The Partnership for Advancing Technology in Housing (PATH) is a voluntary partnership between leaders of the homebuilding industries and representatives of Federal agencies concerned with housing.

They recently released their PATH Remodeling Top 10 home projects to make homes more energy efficient. On the list, rightly so, is the use of compact fluorescent lighting.

What often gets overlooked, however, is the use of CFL lighting outdoors. With shorter daylight hours at this time of the year, outdoor lighting is left on more hours a day for both security and decoration.

Using an ENERGY STAR rated outdoor lighting or switching to CFL bulbs in outdoor fixtures can make a world of difference in your outdoor lighting energy usage.
