I purchased this lamp as a Christmas gift for my sister. She phoned the next day to say she just loves the lamp and had already been using it for her needlework, beading and for reading. She said she loves the sleek design and that the light is perfect for all her needs. The magnification is a wonderful aid in dealing with the miniscule beads she uses.

I bought this lamp to paint miniatures 1:24 and the miniature army warhammers for my step son. It is found to be invaluable as my eyes are not what they use to be. I also have mono-vision which means I focus in only one eye close up and distance in the other eye. The large 3.5inch magnification glass is great because it has a larger visual field and I could focus with both eyes. I was trying to see through the tiny 1/4inch for the 5X magnification found in most other models with a visual field of about 1mm. The 5X magnification plus the great lighting really helps these older eyes see all the detail. I also found this lamp to be great for cross stitch and other fine detail work I thought I was not going to be able to do any longer. The quality is top of the line and the lamp does not threaten to tip over if I put the head in its lowest position. The price may be a little more but it is well worth it in quality and getting the job done. The sleek modern design is a plus for this task lamp.

I do not have this model...not metal however it is exactly the same with the exact specs down to the diameter, magnifier and bulb size and type. I am on my third over the past decade. This is one of my must have's. Nothing beats this lamp after the sun goes down. I use it for paperwork, makeup and reading.
