We love this design by New Orleans-based designer Paul Gruer, from the hand-painted base details all the way through the golden coral-like finial. In umbers and gilded gold finishes, this striking lamp has four frogs atop a black base that seem to be holding up the umber washed center block. Light brown, square silk shade is crowned appropriately with a stylized flame finial.

I love this lamp; it is stylish, unique and unexpected. However, I received it today and there is a crack on the green base and there is pools of lacquer around two of the frogs. It was packed really, really well so I don't know if it was damaged in shipping or if no one noticed in Atlanta. The lacquer puddled by the frogs makes me wonder if it is the latter. I have to speak with customer service on Monday to see what to do about it-- It is going to be a royal pain to pack it back up. I hope the next one is as expected. Oh, that isn't a coral finial; it is a flame (flambeau) that sort of shines when the lamp is on. I find that special.
