I just put this lamp together - I was impressed with the fine finish and sturdiness of the product. Another poster commented that the lamp was flimsy and didn't stand straight - I'm not sure which color the post is under - you have to be careful to follow the directions for mounting the upright pole: otherwise, you get the result he described: tilted, flimsy, etc.

This tops all other chair side reading lamps I've owned. My previous lamp broke & the one I replaced it with looked good, but didn't adjust low enough or have an adjustable head to eliminate bright light glaring from the side. I had to return it. I love that this lamp not only has an adjustable height that is low enough for my needs, but the lamp head tilts, the light has 2 settings & the base is heavy enough to not tip easily. To top it off this lamp is sleek & modern & will look good in any decor.

I use this product for reading, lamp is right besides my favorite chair. The lower lighting is sufficient for me. It is so nice to have the lighting directly above my reading material. Previously, I tried reading by a lamp on an end table, where I had to bend my neck toward the lamp to get ample lighting. This lamp provides "very comfortable" reading. I am pleased with my purchase.

I am a frequent Lamps Plus customer and usually a happy one, but this is the lowest quality item I've bought from them. It arrived with white lines in the black finish and continued to chip as I assembled it. I have this in a dark corner that needed a spot of light, otherwise I would have sent it back.

I bought the lamp because of its low base which I needed due to small, high transit area or space. It makes safes for us to walk and won't tip the lamp either.I found the lamp to be pricey compared to another one I found at [...]. The lamp's base was sitcking up much higher though, so I went with Lampsplus'.
