As we get older, operating the tiny knobs and switches on household applicances gets tougher.
A new wave of touch lamp designs address this problem. You can turn these lamps on and off simply by touching anywhere on the lamp base. Many designs also offer a dimmer one-touch option as well.

These touch switches are great for sconces where a turn switch can be hard to reach. We had some touch switch wall lights installed by a dark staircase and it's quick to turn on and off as you're passing by.
