Goodnow House in Hutchinson, Minnesota Photo

I do. What's not to love about this unique, American look? Thoughtful landscape integration, craftsmanship, and solid construction; the Prairie School has it all.

Although Frank Lloyd Wright has been it's most well-known propopent, George Grant Elmslie was among the most prodigious and well-commissioned of this architecture school. Elmslie was the chief draftsman and ornamental designer for Louis Henry Sullivan, the mentor of the Prarie School architects.

The mini-screens you see below are reproductions of stencil designs for Elmslie's orderly, yet organically themed building details. They both come in a cherry or maple finish. Click on the links below to view the homes they were designed for.

This design has been adapted from a stencil found in the 1913 Goodnow house.
