Doesn't this make you long for a warm evening on the patio? Well, spring and summer are on their way, so it's not too early to start thinking about decking out your outdoor spaces.
This is my idea of a modern-yet-cozy seating area with organic touches and a hint of Asian-inspired zen. I put it together at Polyvore which is a very cool site where you can create your own visions in fashion, interior design, art and more. You can choose items from hundreds of stores and designers, and there are quite a few LAMPS PLUS items there now with more to come.
Make your own set at Polyvore.com and see what you can create with lighting and decor from LAMPS PLUS. Just search "LampsPlus.com" when you're creating a set. I'd love to see your inspirations ... post a link here in the comments!
Selected Items in this set:
The Venice cottage of a famous muralist is the subject this unique Home Tour from the LA Times. The resident is an artist whose work can be seen above. This bedroom is actually a converted garage where the walls have been painted to resemble fake wood paneling.
The result is doubly romantic because the couple that lives there met in an Aspen cabin. Finally a storybook ending!
There really is nothing like the rustic lodge style for creating warmth and cozyness. To recreate the log-cabin ambiance check out our selection or see this style guide on the origins of this all-American style. To see more inspirational rustic interiors, check out our collection of rustic/lodge room scenes.

If you're in the Chicago area be sure to check out the Smart Home exhibit on the grounds of Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry.
The home is a fully-functioning, eco-friendly design that's been redone for the 2010 season.
Says the website, "The 2010 exhibit will emphasize great spaces for entertaining, a master bedroom that serves as a retreat, a whimsical nursery/playroom and a functional home office—all of which keep in mind natural elements and harmony with the earth. The design features soft, organic textures and colors fused with a contemporary style." Looks interesting; I'll be visiting this summer!
We've added a number of beautiful new wall mirror designs over the last few weeks. My personal favorite? This big sunburst mirror design that would be perfect over a couch or to brighten an entry area.
And in case you missed it, we're now offering all mirrors on LampsPlus.com with free shipping. So now you can see your reflection for less!
The Times Online has a photo gallery up about designer Karim Rashid’s Manhattan loft apartment in Chelsea.
Poured resin floor, ultra-modern furnishings...Karim Rashid lighting. Hey, how come you never see a TV in these kinds of shots?
TV personality and E! Channel fixture Ross Matthews posted some great photos of his newly decorated home. And to replace many of the "horrid" fixtures he inherited with the house, Ross turned to LAMPS PLUS.
Excellent choice, Ross! Redecorating a home to make it your own is lots of fun, and we're glad we could help.
See the pictures at the Hello Ross blog.

Lifehacker found a great tip at AskTheBuilder.com that may explain why some sockets burn through bulbs faster than others. Sometimes, over the years, the brass tab at the bottom of a light socket gets flattened. If so, it won't make solid contact with the light bulb.
If you have a fixture that burns out bulbs much quicker than normal, check the tab. It's an easy fix ... see this Lifehacker post for detailed instructions.
For all your light fixtures, stock up on bulbs at great prices -- see all light bulbs. And right now, all Tesler bulbs are 50% off. Just enter the code "TESLER" at checkout. And don't forget our broken bulb remover if things get messy!
We've added new patterns to our Design Your Own Custom Lighting program from designers Kathy Ireland and Stacy Garcia. You can find 'em in the Design Your Own tool in the "All Patterns" menu drop-down. Take a look and design your own!
