Green Home Kitchen Photo

As 2010 draws to a close, here are some tasty links that we've been enjoying. Have fun reading!

Builder magazine profiles three Green-energy homes in the San Francisco Bay area. Among them is the O’Neill Passive House (see photo above) in Sonoma, Calilifornia. Built to the 2006 International Building Code, it has an energy bill 90% lower than an equivalent sized normal home.

Blogger Create Girl runs a weekly Home Typography Tuesday, where she features home decor with letters and typographic elements. Forgive the pun, but they are very readable.

Blog CocoCrazy spotted a feature in C Magazine of a home owned by Kathleen and Maurizio Almanza, the owners of Los Angeles based Italian furniture store Eccola. See the post or the article.

Mercury Glass Holiday Decorating

From a Minneapolis Star Tribune story, local designer John Lassila uses his silver mercury glass collection in his holiday decorating (photo above). "I like how it shimmers and has a refined look," said Lassila, a Minneapolis interior designer who trims the homes of some of his clients as well as his own."

In the kitchen, the Miami Herald reports how wooden countertops are making a comeback.

The folks behind the online magazine Lonny have been tagged to produce an digital version of Traditional Home, now dubbed Trad Home. Curbed has the news.
