Have a hard time picking out lighting fixtures for your dining room? It can definitely be an overwhelming task when there are so many styles to choose from. I've found three images for you to visualize your dining room fixture style using common finishes — black, glass or crystal, and brass. Lighting comes in many colors, so see which color fits in your home, and then which of the styles you gravitate toward.
Black chandeliers are one of my personal favorites when it comes to lighting fixtures because they're dramatic yet classic.
Black Shopping Guide: Possini Euro Planet Chrome and Black Pendant Chandelier; Possini Euro 28" Wide Black with Chrome Glass Chandelier; Echelon Crystals and Black Shade 21" Wide Pendant Light.
A glass or crystal lighting fixture is always a winner. Due to it's lack of color, it will always complement your ever-changing decor. You can paint your walls any color and switch up your serving platters and your fixture will always go.
Glass and Crystal Shopping Guide: Possini Euro Contour Crystal and Chrome Pendant Light; Izabella 21 1/2" Wide 12-Light Crystal Chandelier; Metropolitan 39" Wide Fusano Collection Chandelier.
Brass is another one of my favorite types of lighting fixtures because it brings a warm collected feel to the space — as if the fixture has a history. Luckily there are many different styles of brass fixtures to choose from that you wouldn't have to compromise modern taste to have a brass fixture.
Brass Shopping Guide: Hinkley Plantation Collection Five Light Chandelier; Possini Euro Curve 5-Light 27" Wide Burnish Brass Chandelier; Glass Star 24 3/4" Wide Antique Brass Pendant Light.

In my home, most of the light fixtures and ramps are a dark oiled bronze -- I like the look.
