Copper foil shades cannot be made from plastic as one person suggested. These shades are glass, but the coating the chinese spray over makes them feel like plastic. Also, the chinese glass in these shades are the lowest quality made, but they are still glass. And made by hand. For the price, these are a steal.

A very handsome shade; distinctive design and vibrant colors. Potential buyers will want to know that the actual product looks exactly like the online photo. But if you have your heart set on a glass shade, look elsewhere. This is as much "glass" as your tupperware is. The product is made of a hard plastic which, from a distance, does resemble glass. While it will be durable and unbreakable, it lacks the elegance of glass (which would doubtless be much more expensive). What's annoying is that I specifically asked the seller if it was glass and not plastic, and was told it was, indeed, glass. If you don't know, say so. And if you do know, please tell me the truth. That said, an attractive product, reasonably priced for what it is, i.e., plastic.
