Nice, good looking fan at a good price
By DG from Pennsyltucky on 1/20/2016
Pros:
Circulates Air Well, Attractive, Quiet
Best Uses:
Decorative, Smaller Rooms, Air Circulation
Describe Yourself:
Casual Do-It-Yourselfer
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I installed this fan in a room with a low (~8 ft) ceiling. The low profile is nice. Installation was fairly easy. The instructions included are very poorly written and illustrated, and I am no DIY genius, but I figured it out with almost no problems. After the first attempt, there was a bit of noise, but after a partial disassembly and tightening the attachment of the motor to the bracket to the ceiling, the noise went away and the fan was whisper quiet. Seems to move air quite well. The light takes two standard candelabra 60W bulbs (incandescent bulbs included), for which replacement is very easy -- same as for a typical ceiling light fixture. So the complaints about some similar fans not being bright enough or bulb replacement being difficult do not apply here. It's only been a few days so we will see how it ages, but so far it seems like a well-built fixture that is both good looking and functional.

Cons:
Difficult to Clean
Best Uses:
Smaller Rooms, Air Circulation
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:

It was pretty easy to assemble and install. My husband had already done the hard work of putting an electrical box in the ceiling through the attic, so we just had to connect it. We have dark finish on our furniture, so the bronze fixture works well with our decor. I like the simple way the pull-strings work, and it adds a ceiling light to our Master BR that wasn't there before, so all in all we are very satisfied with the fan.
