Disappointed
By clsPA from Pennsylvania on 1/25/2015
Cons:
Not Bright Enough, Wobbles
Describe Yourself:
Casual Do-It-Yourselfer
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This is a little more expensive than other fans and I really thought the quality would be impressive. It looks kind of blah, and it really, really is not bright enough (drives me crazy to have the light on, in fact). The air circulation is okay but not great. And there is a vibration / slight wobble, even though we installed it correctly and as securely as possible.

Lamps Plus Response: Hi clsPA, please contact us at 866-506-9326 - it sounds like your fan need to be balanced. Sorry to hear you are disappointed with the light output - the Habitat fan includes the maximum wattage for ceiling fans that is allowed under law (the Energy Act of 2005). Thanks for the feedback - the Lamps Plus team.

This fan is perfect for our lower, 1975-era ceilings. Moves air well and keeps our west-facing office/computer room cool (even when all three are running which heats up the space). We're considering getting two more of these for the long, narrow living room.

We bought two of these fans to replace an old fan that the motor burnt out on and a second fan of the same age. Install was simple and the fan works as expected.

I am really happy with this fan. It moves the air well - making the space much more comfortable and usable. I'm a bit disappointed with the light kit. While its very attractive, it's way too dim for my use - only taking 2 60 watt bulbs. I'm going to need to find alternate lighting for this area.

I have this fan in the Nickel, and now have bought two more in the oil-rubbed bronze. Like the Nickel version, this is quiet and attractive, and it works well in my 1930s Tudor Cottage. I hired an electrician to install this, and my only complaint is that he screwed on the finial at the bottom of the lamp kit too tightly and now I can't get it off to change the light bulb. I'm going to have to use some tools to unscrew it, which will take off the paint/finish. Lampsplus does sell a replacement finial for about $10.00, which I will buy, but be warned: screw on the finial at the bottom so that it's secure, but not so tight that you can't get it undone.

Love My New Ceiling Fans!
By Ann from Seattle, WA on 9/5/2013
Pros:
Quiet, Range of Speeds, Works in Both Directions, Circulates Air Well, Attractive
Cons:
Swinging Pull Chain
Best Uses:
Air Circulation, Smaller Rooms, Decorative
Describe Yourself:
Beginner
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I purchased 3 of these for 3 small upstairs bedrooms that are very hot in the summertime. Needed an electrician to run a third wire from each fan/light fixture through the attic space to the new wall switch controls, as I didnt' want to use the pull chains to operate them. Took him all day to do the wiring and install the fans, but they are beautiful and work perfectly! He tied up the pull chains so that they are still present but no longer visible, and I just ordered some hole plugs online to plug up the little holes where the chains were supposed to hang through. Well worth the expense for the electrician!

We love these ceiling fans. We ordered 5 of these and 1 in silver. My father and brother installed all 6 in about 5 hours. They didn't have any issues installing them. We have a newer house (4 years old) and they just had to switch these out with the other lights. They look great and move the air well. The color is more of a chocolate brown. They are darker than pictured. But, we like them.
