This is a nice fan. Installation was moderately difficult. Took about 3 hours. I have a couple of nits though. The biggest is the globe is frosted with a beige-like color, which tends to dim the lighting. I noticed that some other models of this fan come with a white frosted globe. I think I would have preferred this. Also, the light dimming function on the remote is a little tricky. This fan has both uplighting and down lighting. There are two buttons on the remote that control each lighting section. If you push the button once, it turns the light on. Push it again it turns the light off. Push and hold the button, and it will gradually dim or brighten the lights. I find this a bit cumbersome to control, as the dimming/brightening occurs fairly rapidly. There is no way to "nudge" the function. If you push and hold the button and the light starts to dim, but yiu release it too soon, you cannot just give it one more push to dim it further. One more push simoly turns the light off. I can live with this, but wish there were more fine control over this dimming function. The last nit is the canopy. There is a lot of stuff that needs to be packed into it. The remore receiver, and a lot of wires (6, plus the antenna). I had a lot of trouble getting everything to stay in the canopy when trying to finalize the installation and place the canopy against the ceiling. Not sure of the solution here - maybe enlarge the canopy a little? None of this would stop me from buying the fan. But I fo wish they would offer it with your choice of globes. They are already making the different globes anyway. And I think the white globe would look great against the kokoa fan.
Love how it looks and operates now that it is installed. It is installed in a bedroom. It is quiet and the three speed options are perfect. My husband has installed many ceiling fans of different types in various rooms. We installed this with the short drop. Due to the design It was extremely difficult to install some of the screws. I recommend the fan and I recommend you have a professional install it.
My husband installed this beautiful fan with no problem. Love the rich look and awesome wall switch. Both up and down lights give a warm glow. This fan is a two thumbs up. Thank you Minka Aire.
