Fan was easy to install and is very attractive. Unfortunately the light gets too hot if you leave it on for an extended period of time. I left the light on for a few hours while painting the room and it got so hot it melted the wire nuts providing power to the light. This allowed the black wire (120v) to touch the metal housing which shorted out the receiver so the remote no longer worked. They sent another receiver and I installed. Fan was working again. But I had to finish painting so I went back to work. A few hours later the remote stopped working again. The glass globe was so hot I had to use an oven mitt to remove it to check the connections. The design and size of bulb (100 watt halogen) are too much for the amount of insulation provided to protect the wiring. After the fan cooled off it started working again but in my opinion you can't safely use the light for any period of time w/o worrying about something catching on fire. Returned fan. I do not recommend this particular fan.
This is a beautiful fan! It circulates the air very well. The light is not that bright, but that wasn't an issue for me.
I purchased this fan on sale because of the stylish wooden blades, and I have to say that it's really paid off. Pictures don't do justice, it moves tons of air, and the light is decently bright. Normally I'd take a star off for installation (ok but there's one awkward step IMO) but it's literally off the charts aesthetically - five stars.
I had difficulty installing, and after professional consultation, decided the lamp was damaged. I contacted Lamps Plus and they sent me a new receiver. I was very impressed at the level of customer service I received and promptness of my repair parts delivery. I have installed just a handful of light fixtures, and while I would consider this difficult, it's only because it is such a QUALITY lamp that it is very heavy. Plan on having a buddy to help! It matches my wood floors perfectly. And it just looks great.
Perfect fan for our dining room where we often have 16+ guests and need air circulation. The light in adequate and not overpowering for a dining space.
Beautiful fan. I really like the aesthetic. It was not too difficult to install. Initially, I thought that the remote did not work well. Then I went back and read the directions again (and pressed the held the set button -- after which it went through a program of flashing lights and running the fan in both directions). After setting the remote, it worked much better. The only negative is that the light is not very bright.
The remote control and the receiver did not work well and therefore I feel it is not the best quality even though the wood blades are a nice feature.
Installed in home office, 6 speeds means I can tune the draft created without blowing papers off the desk.
GREAT FAN LOVE IT
After searching many stores, this was the only fan I found that had oak blades. So many had various shades of cherry, or were too dark or too light. I have oak cabinets throughout the house, and this fan just fits in so well. It is VERY quiet. There are 6 speeds and the light adjusts from dim to very bright. The only drawback is that it cannot be suspended down from the ceiling. It was not a problem for me, but if you have very high ceilings and need the fan to be suspended lower into the room, this is not the fan for you.
I love this fan! It is the absolute quietest fan I have ever owned, has the best speed range (six distinct speeds and all are useful!), and looks very nice, without looking too avant-garde or overly themed in a way that would quickly go out of style. It has a brushless motor and a built-in electronic motor controller with a remote, and the remote is full-featured, though it isn't pictured in the current description. The remote includes fan speed buttons, a light button for both on/off and dimming adjustment, and a button for reversing the direction of the fan. All controls are on the remote and there are no switches anywhere on the fan itself. The three wood blades are solid real wood, laminated together and machined into a pleasing shape. They have a matte varnish on them and look like they will last for decades. They are not a pressboard or wood particle-type (cheap) material with only a grain veneer. As you can see in the very accurate photos, the fan is very clean looking, without pull chains or any exposed screw heads anywhere. I like it so much I bought a second one to use in a different room later, and I couldn't be happier with them. I have one in a master bedroom and one in an off-kitchen dining area, and they both look great and compliment their respective room's decors well. I have listened very carefully, and I hear NO motor hum or other motor noise whatsoever when they run. You can definitely hear air flowing at the higher speeds, but that is always the case with any fan. The pitch on the blades is higher than that of many five-bladed (typical) fans, and it seems that the fewer, higher-pitched blades create a more effective and "breezy" air flow than the typical high-blade-count fan would. This fan has real class and will not disappoint. It is also fairly easy to install. I recommend putting a stout wood brace in the ceiling for any fan and I consistently have done this, but there do exist acceptable metal fan box units with metal bracing bars if you don't want to take the extra effort.
