I bought the brown and steel look item first. It looks nice in a big room but for a smaller bedroom I was worried that it would like it was taking up the whole room. The white one is hardly noticable. When I turn it on low, it's great. When on the highest setting it feels like a tornado as there is so much air circulation. From what I read this highest setting uses less energy than the lowest on all other fans. It is very energy efficient so worth having a larger fan.

This fans moves a lot of air, but, with six forward speeds it is easy to control the amount of "breeze" you want. The motor is very quite. The only thing you hear is the air being moved. This may bother some people on the highest speed. We have this fan in our bedroom and on warm nights it runs the entire night on high and doesn't bother us. I have installed six fans in our current home and this is by far the easiest assembly and installation of all. I was pleasantly surprised that there was absolutely no wobble from the moment I turned on the power. No tweaking needed. I am so pleased with this product that my next fan will also be an Emerson. The only unknown at this point is will it hold up over time. Judging from the design, fit and finish, and everything I have mentioned above, I am very hopeful that the Emerson Midway Eco will be giving us years of service.
