We feel this fan is truly classy and nice looking. However, we have two things to mention that may be important. The blades reflect the light and you feel you have double vision if you stare at it. That may be something that would bother some. Also, my husband installed the fan. He said that although the coupling cover is shown in figure six of the instructions, the written instructions don't say anything about it, so he put everything together and then saw that the coupling cover needed to be put on. That meant that he had to take it apart because the coupling cover is one of the first things! Don't make the same mistake.

Not for outdoor use

Cons:
Wobbles, Paint Peeled Off, Fell Apart After 6 Months

Last fall we bought two fans for our pergola and had them professionally installed. These fans fell apart after one Texas winter. We were told these were outdoor fans. I wish I had pictures to show how horrible they look now. The paint has completely peeled off all the blades and one fan wobbled (due to wind) so much that it looks like it's about to come unbolted.

Lamps Plus Response: Hi Lisa, this fan is rated for damp locations, and not suitable for use in all outdoor weather conditions. Please contact our customer service department at 800-782-1967 for more information - the Lamps Plus Team.

Nice fan. Blade installation is a pain.
By JC Verified Reviewer from Austin, TX on 6/22/2012
Pros:
Attractive, Circulates Air Well, Range of Speeds, Quiet
Cons:
Blade installation, Cheap Connectors
Describe Yourself:

Negatives: Plastic/Molex connectors were not crimped/properly. Had to re-crimp these. Centering the blades is difficult, would be nice to have some alignment tabs/ holes to help align the blade during installation. Color is a little more red vs. the oiled bronze items you would get at your local hardware store. Positive: Looks good. Would have been 5 stars if not for aforementioned negatives.

Sharp-looking fan

Pros:
Attractive, Quiet
Best Uses:
Decorative, Air Circulation
Bottom Line:

This is a very attractive fan that I am using in my newly added hearthroom. I do wish that it came with a 12- or 18-inch downrod for my vaulted ceiling. My contractor hung the fan, so I cannot speak to the ease of installation.

Great Ceiling Fan

Fan is fairly easy to install. Finding and installing the UW box to hold it in the ceiling was the hardest part, by far! Fan works great and is super quiet. Pull chains do rattle a bit at high speeds, but in the bedroom where we have it, the lowest setting circulates the air perfectly. It also looks great. Once I had it installed, a friend saw it and said, "I hate ceiling fans, but that one is really, really nice!". My daughter (20 months) like to sit on the floor and watch it go round and round, too.

The large size of this fan makes it great for circulating air in an outdoor location. The included light fixture is an added bonus.

Good quality fan with poor instructions

The fan works great and is very quiet. The apperance of the wood blades is very nice. I am an engineer and so I am not new to figuring out how things fit together. But, these instructions were useless. I got it together fine, but I would not recommend for someone who is not mechanically inclined.
