Overall a nice fan!!! Very sleek and quiet
I had a 52" Minka Aire installed in our 20x17 living room, and a second of that same model installed in our 16x18 bedroom. The motor in our bedroom fan blew after an AZ summer's use. The 52" fans were simply too small for the rooms they were in and did not circulate air well enough... That said, we wanted something more substantial, with a better quality motor that could push more air with less effort. The motor in this fan is not Emerson's largest, it's a step below their largest, but it is VERY substantial... The box weighed a total of 23.5 pounds, I would guess the motor alone was 18 pounds. The wall switch has 4 speeds for the motor, and the light is dimmable by holding the light on/off button in. The blades are beautifully made, symmetrical, and straight. They've got the perfect pitch to them to push air with a seemingly effortless pace. The volume of air this 60" monster pushes is a world above the 52" models it replaces. This fan arrives completely disassembled. It is NOT hard to assemble by any stretch of the imagination, however, it does require time and patience. The first one took me an hour, the second one took me about 35 minutes. Considering the weight of the 52" Minka Aires these Emerson's replaced, I would guess that one Emerson weighs as much as BOTH the Minka Aires combined. This beautiful fan is silent at all speeds. Each fan blade has rubber mounts at the motor, the ceiling mount has rubber guards at the ceiling, and the ball itself holding the fan in place is surrounded by rubber at the base. There was no wobble on either fan I installed - even at full speed. WOW Lighting is accomplished with 2 candelabra bulbs that sufficiently illuminate our large rooms at max dim, and offer a nice mood lighting for company as well. We were pleased with the light feature offered on this fan - much more so than the fans it replaced. There is very little to dislike about this fan aside from the initial shock of it being in pieces in the box, which may throw some amateur installers off. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the "upgrade" and commented that the three blade configuration made our rooms look bigger! Overall, we could not be more pleased with our purchase and would wholeheartedly recommend this model to anyone looking for a quality fan product that FEELS like it is built to last. Everything about this fan says "top quality product." On a final note, just to give an idea of the attention to detail paid on this product... Loctite is included on each screw set to be used for the blades, which prevents unwanted loosening of the screws. I've installed a plethora of high end fans from various manufacturers that don't do this. Really nice touch...
