We just finished building a 500sq foot guest cottage with a kitchen/living room of about 300sq feet and a shed type roof starting at 8ft and angling up to a 14ft ceiling. We chose this fan and had our contractor install it. It's mounted at about the 10ft. height. He didn't mention any difficulty installing it but I was so taken with the fan itself, I didn't even think about the installation process. It is gorgeous. It is like a piece of art. And quiet...Oh so quiet. My Mom moved into the cottage and she has left the fan on ever since she moved in (May 2015) to circulate air. Folks that stop by frequently remark on the fan especially how lovely it looks. So I am very happy. Now we are finishing up a big renovation project in our own house and guess what?!? We are, with no hesitation, buying this very fan for our living room which has an 8ft. ceiling. In the cottage, the space is small but ceiling is high. In our house, ceiling is average but room is very big. So I think it will be perfect. I've purchased many ceiling fans and this is certainly the most expensive but I would say it is worth the price. The workmanship is excellent.
