The brushed steel exudes a style of elegance at the end of my crewel loveseat. The ball chains are so unique and make turning the lamp on and off so simple. The off white shade is the finishing touch to a classic lamp that quickly becomes the centerpiece of the living room. I saw this lamp online and almost ordered it, but decided to drive to the store and see it in person before purchasing, [...] It's a beautiful lamp, just a bit taller than another similar lamp I had previously tried from another store, exactly what I was looking for! AND it was on SALE!!! Doesn't get any better than that, does it? I'm using it in my living room to add more light (duh) and generally make the room look more sophisticated since I'm listing my place for sale soon. The pull chains are surprisingly heavy, which to me indicates a high level of quality compared to the cheap thin almost plastic looking metal you'd expect from certain discount chain stores. I wasn't sure I'd like the square base of the lamp since everything else is round, but I really don't notice it much anymore. I'm using 2 compact fluorescent bulbs to save energy (they recommend 2 60 watt bulbs). This lamp doesn't light up the entire room compared to my torchiere floor lamp, of course, but the two of them together in the same room definitely sheds some light on the subject. [...] I'm definitely glad I found it among all the brass and tiffany style lamps they carry.

I do not like modern and have a lot of wood in my home and the brushed steel look gives it the perfect accent and balance needed. I have never received so many compliments as I have on these lamps. I use them on my endtables on either side of my couch. The lighting when both lamps are on is incredible and yet if I just want a soft glow when watching TV I just turn on one bulb in one lamp. I am very satisfied. I will never shop anywhere beside LAMPS PLUS for future purchases, they always have exactly what I am looking for at an EXTREMELY resonable price and the website is VERY user friendly.

Love everything about these lamps. the finish is nice and the pulls make it easy to turn on and off. the shades are fabric and sleek. nothing fancy like pleats that collect dust. just nice clean lines.. and the base is slim, so it can be put on smaller bed tables or living area end tables. oh and easy to put together too.
