I bought some barley twist lamps out of the classifieds, but didn't really like the traditional silk shades. These shades really updated the lamps. They look just like some I saw in the Pottery Barn catalog a few years back. The color works great for me, but they are definately more of a taupe/khaki with a golden tone to it. They appear even more golden when the lamp is lit; not white or off white as they appear in the picture. The fabric has a lot of slubs in it which give it a more earthy feel as another buyer mentioned. Quality constuction. I'm very pleased. I just wish they had this in additional sizes.

I love the style and quality of this lamp shade. And the price was much better than I could find in stores. The linen fabric was a little more "rustic" than I was expecting, but the look is growing on me. If you're looking for a contemporary, earthy looking shade, this one's for you.
