Expensive but high quality

We bought a pair of these to use as reading lights in our bedroom, and they work well. Construction quality is great, though a few set screws in the heads were loose and simply needed to be tightened after unpacking. Conversely, the set screws in the main joints were so tight it was hard to adjust, so we loosened those. Just normal adjustment, I guess. The dimmer is the best quality I have ever seen... very smooth and continuous. The only downside of these lamps is that the base takes up so much space on a nightstand. It is extremely heavy, so the lamp is quite stable, but I might have traded a little more height on the base to make the footprint smaller. One note: the handles have little silicone rings to grasp when adjusting the head angle, but the adjusting post is brass and can still get quite warm.
