Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I love my lamp! I have low vision in my right eye so I need a very bright light to read by. This lamp is the only one to accomplish that level of illumination and more. And its full dimmer down to a very low level allows me to use it for ambient light as well. The dimmer switch is very responsive and precise and the heavy base makes it a very solid lamp for both my nightstand and my office desk.
