The light has an auto feature (solar) which illuminates only in darkness and saves energy. It also has a greater illumination area vs our old light fixture. We have the best decorative outdoor lights on the block!

My husband installed the lights himself. They look great on our front porch. I love the frosted glass. It looks great when the lights are on @ night. Also, having the sensor, is a great feature. I'm buying more & would recommend this light for purchase.

We have 5 of these spread through the length of our backyard. They complement the espresso wicker/ tropical theme we have in the backyard. If you only had 1, it wouldn't be as bright all by itself. Altogether, they light the backyard nicely. The intensity of light from "energy star" lights aren't as bright as non-energy star lights, but that is the point - to save energy, right? They provide just enough light without being annoyingly bright.

I use this product next to my 3 slider doors into the back yard for security from dawn to dusk. I also have one (larger) by the front door and 2 on both sides of my garage door. My neighborhood has no street lights so most people turn on the outside lights in the evening. I like that mine turn on / off automatically.
