We bought this floor lamp for our living room to use as a reading light behind our chaise lounge. It is not only beautiful, but also emits a romantic, yellow glow throughout the room in the evenings. It comes with an extension if your wall outlet is far away from the lamp. It also has a fader switch so you can adjust the light.

Absolutely gorgeous piece. It does illuminate a yellowish light due to the color of the glass, which could be a pro or con for you. Love the dimmer for mood lighting.

In a southwest home, this is a perfect piece to "pull together" a room with a darkened corner. I love the dimmer feature so you can have any kind of warm or "mood" lighting with this lamp. My only disappointment is that the contrast color at the lower end of the globe is a darker yellow and not the orangeish amber as depicted.

This is a beautiful lamp, used in our house mostly for decoration and to dimly light a corner. It is not very bright but that is okay for where we put it. Bugs do get in because the tops are open. Also the glass gets very hot.

The glow from this lamp is quite yellow so if it is your only source of light be prepared that you might need to add another cooler source to balance.
It does work with compact fluorescent bulbs however this renders the dimmer useless.
My husband didn't believe that the hoods were made of glass. It's hard to tell. Also the hoods come with some type of grease on them so be prepared that they don't slip out of your hand while cleaning.
Lastly, none of the styrofoam in the package is recyclable. The packaging did, however, protect the lamp extremely well.

Very easy to assemble. I placed this lamp in my foyer where a recessed corner exists. It fits perfectly and I really like the height. Matches well with just about any decor.

I wanted a lamp that fit in with the many pieces of art in my room. I wanted it to be a work of art too and I think it works well in that regard. I also like the floor dimmer which allows more ways to enjoy the lamp.

Placed in the corner space left behind my sectional couch. Lamp plug is (1) foot long, which then plugs into the foot dimmer which has about (5) more feet of cord. As is the only way to control the lamp shy of the outlet it's self is to use the foot dimmer. There in lies the rub that if your placement does not allow you to get your foot within 12" of the base then you will not be able to control it. My placement required additional expense of a tabletop dimmer and an extension cord the foot dimmer was placed in the trash. Lastly a pointer on unpacking, the unit comes in two boxes, the stand in one and the globes and nuts in the other. They are practically hermetically sealed in styrofoam which is outstanding for shipping because I see no way anything could be damaged short of a major puncture wound but do yourself a favor and open the boxes outside, the styrofoam is brittle and if you make the mess outside you won't have to clean it up off of your floor.
