I was looking for a discreet but functional lamp for a corner of the living room by an armchair next to a window. Good natural light during the day but I needed something to illuminate that corner in the evening and on grey days. This is the perfect lamp - simple design but good lighting for reading.

I use this lamp at the side of my couch. The on/off switch is conveniently located on the head and it has a low beam and high beam (I usually use the low beam, it's perfect for reading and gives a wonderful mood lighting as well - the high beam is great when you need a bright light to see minute details in a small object). The lamp is simple and elegant. If you have never used a reading lamp before you will love the quality of the light. There is no glare because you can aim the direction perfectly. This is a quality built, wonderful product.

I bought this because I thought it would look cool next to my couch, which it does. But it does not work very good for reading. It puts too much strain on the eyes, I think because it's too low giving it too much glare. I wish I would have bought a bright torchiere lamp instead.

I purchased this item to use next to a sofa for reading instead of the ceiling canned lights.
It is a nice, elegant style.
Easy on/off switch with hi/lo is nice.
The bronze color is very very dark
Only negative is I wish it could adjust a little higher than 46"

Practical reading lamp for small areas. Shines directly on reading materials and has low/high switch that most lamps of this type don't have. Adjusts easily and works well in a small area where a regular floor lamp wouldn't fit.

Beautiful lamp! I bought the dark bronze color and it is very nice. The lamp has two settings, low and high and you can easily adjust the shade to shine directly on your reading material, etc. A very good value.
