I have my lamps mounted above my bedside table. I can swing it out and over toward the bed for night time reading or back and out of the way when not using it. Leaves my bedside table free for other items and don't have to worry about knocking a lamp over when doing other things.

I purchased two of these lights to use in a small guest bedroom as reading lights above the bed. They look great and do the job extremely well. Plenty of light, with a 3 way switch, these lights provide a range of brightness without having to get out of bed. They take up no floor or bedtable space so are perfectly suited to a smaller space.
