A bronze reproduction of the historical astronomical device that showed the Earth as the center of the universe.
Early man believed the stars were fixed to the inside surface of a rotating sphere with Earth at the center. We now know that we live on the fringe of a nearly infinite and ever expanding universe. Armillary dials showed the course of the planets as known at the time with the course of the sun shown by a wide band called the ecliptic circle.
