Columbia Small Yacht Model

This miniature Columbia yacht is a fully assembled replica of the 1958 America's Cup Defender. Designed by Olin Stevens and built to scale using a plank-on-frame construction method similar to the building of actual ships, the Columbia yacht has full sails that extend to the masthead. The hull is made of teak and wooden hatches can be seen on the deck near the bow. Metal stanchions and railings populate the cabin. The backstay rigging is tightly connected from the transom to the top of the mast. Completed with a main sail, jib, mast, and intricate rigging, the model is secured tightly on a wood base with a brass name plate. This model will make a perfect gift for home or office decorator, boat enthusiast, or passionate collector.
