While I agree with previous reviews regarding the instructions need work, I also agree that it was worth the effort of installing it. As an example, the instructions have 2 very different pieces that have the same piece number. You really need to skip the written directions and rely on the picture on another piece of paper. Once its up, a dimmer switch is highly recommended and I am thankful I ordered it with the lamp. Its great to be able to select between 5 lights, 5 lights plus the center torch, or just the torch by itself. We love it and the look it adds.

Hanged over formal dinning table which we use as card game table too when friends come over. I liked downright lights, so lighting is bright enough to play cards, especially with switcher brightness can be adjusted too.

This is hanging over the area where our dining room table will be. It has plenty of light with 5 60 watt bulbs and the center 50 watt bulb. It was quite difficult to hang; especially threading the electrical wire through the chain and keeping the wires from snugging up when hanging it. The directions were confusing. The center bulb has its own switch. Don't test it by putting a bulb in the center receptacle. Our regular 60 watt bulbs hang out below the shades (Picture in ad doesn't show that). I really like the fixture and look forward to using it.

The box did not originally contain all the parts necessary to hang. Took over an hour to hang and that was with a professional installer. However, once hung it looks great and works good. With 6 bulbs all facing down make sure you use soft bulbs and 60 Watts or less. Originally hung day light bulbs (energy efficient kind) and the lamp could have nearly doubled as a tanning bed it was sooooo bright. Changed to soft white energy effiecient 40 watt bulbs and looks much better. Hangs over breakfast table and provides plenty of light for eating/puzzles/homework. Goes well with transitional decor.
