I bought two lights for my bedroom to put on either side of the bed. I like to read and sometimes my husband goes to bed before me. Now I won't wake him up with a bright light, because these lights have a dimmer. You can mirror the lights by turning one light (where the bulb is, not the base.)around and bending the arm the opposite way. I noticed in a review that someone didn't think they dimmed or mirrored.

Beautiful sturdy just read instructions carefully. Part that is attached to wall is packed into lamp, took me awhile to figure out that one has to unscrew first.

My wife dims the living room lights in the evening, so if I want to read I have to go to another room. This light allows me to read and her to have her dimly lit living room! Stylish and can be tucked a Out of the way! Love the adjustable brightness as welll.

I use this to view my CD collection, was afraid it would not be enough light but is very bight and although a "spot type" task light, opens up wide enough beam to cover my whole cabinet.

This is a terrific solution to bedtime lighting -- perfect to illuminate the pages of your book. easy controls, focused lighting, and beautiful to look at. If there were a brightness control (or dimmer) it would be absolutely perfect.

I used two of these lamps in my office; there is no way to mirror their function, so one sits backwards against the wall from the other. That is probably only noticeable to me however. They work well otherwise, and the light is adequate for reading. They stay in the position set, without the parts drooping.
