This light creates a gorgeous starburst design when used with a clear lightbulb. It really showcases an area, making the ceiling very decorative, especially at night. Use of a dimmer switch gives the most options since it does put out a lot of light because of the clear glass (or use a lower wattage bulb). I highly recommend the light. I think it would look great in an entrace foyer, but mine is in a small hallway.

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I replaced a 35 year-old ceiling light in my back hall. I was limited to the height because of the backdoor and closet doors that swing into the space. This light is really nice, and throws lots of light (although I did prefer a frosted bulb). Really helps me see into the closet too which is lightless. Even my 20 year old grandson complimented me...'Nice light, gram; looks good. When did you get that?'. Now how many 20 year olds notice a back hall light? It must really look nice!
