People saying this lamp provides good area of illumination must be people making and trying to sell this lamp. Emily was the only review who had it right. I ignored her review and trusted all the others and ended up having to take the two I bought for my bedroom back. With both lamps on at their highest setting, my bedroom still looked like a dimly lit bar. I'll grant that the lamps have a great look and are very stylish. But the shades actually direct what little light you get almost completely downward. If want a lamp mainly for decorative purposes and normal amounts of light hurt your eyes....this is the lamp for you.

Two lamps were purchased. One had to be returned for relpacement because one of the bulbs did not work. Very happy with my lamps, now!

I've received two as desk lamps for my home office. They are perfect height, illumination and the touch feature with 3 levels of lighting is just what I wanted. They are hefty and solid...beautiful. I had a fit issue with one part, but customer service responded immediately by sending a replacement...excellent. Beacause I love the lamps and customer service was so responsive, I've ordered a 3rd for my office area.

The lamp is great! It was well packaged and easy to put together. Some of the parts are small so if you have trouble with your hands you'll need help. Although the bulbs look tiny they give off a nice amount of light.

This lamp was beautiful, the weight on it was more than I expected, telling me I had purchased a very good product. It does require Haolgen bulbs, which I was not aware of at the time, but came supplied with them. I would recommend this product to anyone that wants a quality item in their home or office.

What is the purpose of a lamp that doesn't give off light? If you can answer that question, this is the lamp for you! I bought a pair of these lamps for my nightstands. They are attractive and fit the space perfectly, and I liked the ease of operation. However, they put out almost no light whatsoever. Even with both lights on, there was insufficient light to read in bed, which was the whole point of buying them in the first place. I ended up returning them and buying some lamps with two 60 watt bulbs each. Much better!

I bought a pair of these touch lamps for our bedroom, which is fairly large (14x18). On the low setting, the lamp provides nice mood lighting, and on the highest setting this little lamp alone provides a lot of light for the entire room. The touch feature is fantastic, and the silver finish never shows any finger prints. I don't necessarily love the style, but for the bright lighting from just one little lamp, it's very worth it.
