This lamp looks so much better than pictured--excellent quality, stunning appearance. The shade is such that you can get a lot of illumination if you need it. I found it to be too bright for what I needed with 40W bulbs, so I went with 25W.

I bought this lamp for additional light in my family room. The lamp is more attractive than the pictures and is beautiful when lit. I would say it provides limited to moderate illumination. Each bulb has its own toggle chain, so it is a bit more work to turn on/off; however, in my opinion the attractiveness of the lamp makes up for this inconvenience.
