Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Even though it's a small part of our kitchen, the dining area where our table is located needed plenty of light for evening hours. I tried a few other light fixtures before finding this one that would take three 60 watt blubs. That did the trick and we have plenty of light for our needs. Our house was built in 1967 so we wanted a more sophisticated suave look for our room. This fixture was perfect.
