This is a great lamp; arrived promptly, excellent quality, easy to put together, really like the dark finish. Put it behind our corner couch and it looks great and really lights up the dark corner. Lamp has a dimmer so you can turn it from barely on to all the way. Very pleased with this lamp. The only thing that would make it better would be if it fit closer into the corner. Because of the base, and really virtually all bases on arc lamps, when you place the lamp by the wall or corner, it still has to stick out at least 5 inches, rather than fitting flush against the wall, but I understand the base has to be made that way to support the lamp so it doesn't tip over. Still, though, would be nice to able to get it right into the corner. Globes fit on like those on ceiling fans so I think they could be replaced with regular ceiling fan globes if you ever wanted a different look. I love my new lamp.
