I got the George Kovacs bronze, 6-light set up. We have had it in our home office (about 8'x10') for about 9 years. About 4 years ago one of the lights went out. Bulb replacement didn't work so we replaced the specific fixture for the bulb. Still shorts out. I think it's a shorted spot on the rail. Unfortunately, moving the fixture a few inches either way didn't work out. then the glass lamp "shade" came apart from the fixture and as handy as I am, I could not figure out how to get it back on. We're tired of messing w/the light so we wanted to order a new one. Since the transformer and fixture tie-in's are already in the ceiling and there is another, similar (looks better built) George Kovacs light fixture that will pop into place of the old one, I'm ordering another. This is just to save time and effort on the replacement, otherwise I would have picked another, more expensive and (hopefully) better built fixture. Lets hope the new rail works better. You get what you pay for. If you're thinking about this light, it gives out adequate light for a small room. Some of our lights shine on our computer work areas and others on pictures on the wall. 6 lights does make for decent even lighting. For those not wanting to spend a lot, I would recommend trying this manufacturer, just not the glass type "shades" that George Kovacs sells. They are poorly built.Images/Videos shared by: Jayjmo
I use the lights to focus on specific areas in the room such as my stereo equipment, photos on the wall and a table so as not to have to illuminate the entire room. I liked the set so well that I purchased extensions on both ends of the rail and added more lights.
We are using this in a hallway to illuminate art and photos. The hall has a staircase so is quite wide and the light is placed a little to one side of center. Perhaps the lumens are a little too strong for this purpose, but we are very happy with the fixture. It also provides plenty of light 90% of the time in this hallway, thus saving the use of eight 75w canned lights.
Can not find additional light fixtures to give me addtional lighting.
