I bought it for an end table, but the illumination is not strong enough to light the area or to do my reading by. Still, the light is very stylish, attractive and will fit great with modern or contemporary decor. Although I say OK for end table, just know I don't recommend for sole use for reading. It's great for decor, and looks great when I walk in the door and enter the living room.
