I used this lamp atop a high garment cabinet to get more light in the bedroom. Worked beautifully! Very well built for this price point! Love It!!

I had intended to put this lamp in the kitchen, however the shade is stark white cotton and that didn't seem like such a good idea! So, it made it to the master bedroom on top of a gentleman's chest where I don't have to worry about seeing the underside of the lamp. If you want illumination higher up, this is the right lamp for you. Just be careful when you touch the shade!
