We bought the floor model in the local store, so it was a great deal. This lamp "makes" the room, casting lovely shadows and providing whatever amount of light you choose. Everyone loves the touch-sensitive base. We hardly use the built-in reading lamp, but it's there if you need it. Make sure your shade is perfect - some of the weave on ours isn't quite right. It definitely needs a 3-way-bulb to work quietly.

I have owned this lamp for about 2 years, and recently it became more difficult to get it to turn on by touching it. Then it stopped completely. For the price I would not expect it to stop working like this. I was happy with the lamp until this, but now have to say I wouldn't recommend it

I love the lamp. I fell in love with the design before I read about the features of the lamp, that include downward light for reading and ambient light for general illumination. The shade disperses the light evenly. The base is heavy and stabilizes the lamp. The metal is high quality.

Love this floor lamp. New it as soon as I saw it that it was perfect for our living room. It has a beautiful contemporary design, simple lines with a square shade that went with the other lamp shades we have. The finish on the pole is very neutral and one of the best features is that it turns on and off when you touch any part of lamp excluding the shade. It also features a 3 way light plus a directional function lamp. Very Nice! It was the perfect addition to the dark corner in our living room.

I use this lamp in a dark corner where I have no overhead lighting. It's wonderful because it has the great little reading light, and also takes 2 100 watt bulbs which can be dimmed for perfect ambient lighting. It's very attractive & completely functional - love it. The only thing is you have to remove the glass to replace the bulbs......but not a big deal. I also didn't read the directions to realize you just touch the light anywhere to turn it on/off/dim - so cool!
