Beautiful lamp

A couple of things made hanging this fixture difficult: 1) The wiring wasn't industry standard. Although the instructions referenced the black wire, there was none. My husband used a battery tester to determine the correct wire. 2) It is hard to adjust the hanging wires so the guts of the light fit just right inside the shade (so only the upper electrical unit peeked out of the top of the shade). Note: My husband whose very handy hung the fixture himself. I wasn't sure I'd like the metal "nuts" that hold the shade to the electronic guts. They looked too symmetrical in the photo. But in reality there are three of them and you'd never see two of them line up exactly on the edge of the shade. Despite the above, I love this lamp. We have an angled, open-beamed ceiling in our home. It hangs over the dining room table and puts out a lot of light with the three 40 watt bulbs we put in. It can take up to three 100 watt bulbs! Which wouldn't be a problem since we have a dimmer switch. The shade is quite beautiful when the light is on. Simple, clean lines and light (vs heavy) wires add a modern touch. I'll be purchasing another one of these for the kitchen!
