I am primarily using this for decorative purposes. The pendants hang in an area that is open between rooms. (A closed wall on the bottom). We call it the "look through". The lighting illuminates items that I have on the shelf of the look through. They are a beautiful addition to show off my items on the shelf and to view as you enter the living room. Additionally we've used a dimmer and the whole effect is striking.

This pendant is beautiful yet sheds enough light over kitchen table to work beneath. Just one looks wonderful in a small kitchen.

The overall look of the lamps blends great with our kitchen cabinets and tops. The metal tube extensions improve the overall look as it looks more expensive than it is.

We did not install ourselves - the kitchen remodel electrician did a beautiful job, so unsure how difficult installation is. We have 3 of these pendant lights over the kitchen island - all on a dimmer switch which can create a soft glow or a bright light. They create an understated, yet classic, accent to our 'arts and crafts' kitchen.
