I haven't installed this lamp mainly because I'm still in the process of moving into my new home, but out of the box the light actually looks better in person. Very contemporary and looks WAY better than all of my neighbors porch lights... I read the instructions and it appears to be very easy to put up, even for a novice. I also got some matching yard/porch lights and added steel house numbers to complete the look.
I used this for my back yard. Max wattage is about 60W or so, so what I did was to purcahse a flourescnent bulb that consumed about 50W but gives off light like a 100W bulb. Works GREAT. I shopped around quite a bit and this fixture is excellent in quality and amazing in price. You cant beat it. I am ordering another two for the front of my home.
Easy to install. Exactly what we were looking for.
A clean, easy to install wet-location sconce that goes well with both deco and art-moderne style houses. We placed two of these on a 1920's bungalow and added some horizontal windows, and the result was very pleasing.Images/Videos shared by: sam the architect
Provides soft illumination while concealing the CFL bulb I chose to use perfectly. It won't blind you by looking at it and the design restricts bugs from entering the lamp. A high quality design.
It lights up the area. That is what you want for a light, right? I have not ever changed the light bulb yet. It is noly two month old . I do not like the old-fashioned rusty look. So this is a good choice for me.
I installed 3 of these lights in my backyard. They replaced 3 not-so-attractive motion lights. The new lights look great! The 60-watt max bulb capacity is a bit low. I was looking for a 100-watt fixture, but the look of this light sold me. The higher wattage versions are too big for my yard. I'm going to install the 3 Heathco motion/dimmer switches so the lights will turn on/off automatically. The only negative is that gaskets are not included. I installed my lights on a heavy stucco wall. Hinkley suggested I seal the light fixture to the wall using silicone sealant, but that would make it difficult to remove when I paint my house. I purchased a sheet of neoprene and cut my own gaskets - they worked great! Overall these are nice lights and would recommend them.
