If yours is a one-person installation, you can use a wire (e.g., bent clothes hanger) or plastic band to hold the fixture to the retaining plate while you connect the electric wires. Then disengage the connector.

this went on my back door off the utility room and worked out just great. Looks just like the picture the glass is very good quality. I think I would have gotten one a little larger but that has nothing to do with the description on line or lamps plus it was my mistake.

lamp accepts standard bulb base...I'm using outdoor low wattage flourescent bulbs (40 watt bulb "output" takes less than 5 watts in reality...how cool is that?)

This is a very nice, reasonably-priced series of Mission/Arts & Crafts lights that are a perfect addition to our rustic log cabin in West Virginia. We have four of these lights, two on the front porch and two on the rear deck, illuminating the entry ways. The front lights are accompanied by a matching, larger Mission lamp that hangs from a gabled roof at the front door entry. This particular series creates the perfect motif and lighting ambience for our mountain getaway. Thanks Lamps Plus! Great job all around.
