We are using this lamp in the living room next to the chair where my husband reads. As another reviewer said, he no longer has to tip the shade because of the swing arm. It's attractive and practical. I don't love the lampshade, but don't hate it either. Eventually I will replace it, but, for now it's just fine.

This lamp was placed next to a chair in my living room where my husband likes to read. He was always tilting the shade of the old lamp, so the swing arm makes that unnecessary. The lamp is a very attractive addition to the decor.
