I used two sconces beside a mirror in my bathroom. I put them on a dimmer so I can adjust the amount of light. They may not be enough if you want intese light (e.g., for putting on makeup) but they give a lot of light and I also have a ceiling fixture so it works great. The crystal that came with it was too "heavy" so I switched it out for a more elegant look.
