Intended to use this energy-saving lamp on my desk but decided to put it on to of my bookcase as a decorative accent light because of the odd yellow-green light color. Illumination is good and bright and it runs cool. Wish it had a little blue component in the light for cool white color. Light fixture exterior is shinny and lusterious, well-built heavy metal construction. Good quality but wish it had a built-in, base-mounted rocker switch instead of cord mounted switch.

Use lamp on top of roll top desk to light up work area. Great bright light that doesn't heat up because it's an led bulb.
