This is a very nicely styled little lamp. And I mean little. It's small in size & gives little light, do not expect to read with it. But it does make an attractive accesory. On off switch is on the cord. One weird thing, when I unpacked it - the bottom flap was opened and there was a mystery piece of plastic. I figured it was a mistake, closed it up and threw away the offender. No harm, but that's why I didn't rate it good quality.

[...] When I opened the box, the shades were already falling apart. Also, the leather and stitching are very shoddy.These were to be used bedside, but with the switches on the cord, they are difficult to turn on / off as the cords constantly fall behind the nightstand. If I was interested in keeping them, I would spring for a remote.Bottom line: You get what you pay for
