I purchased this product because of the decent reviews. Unfortunately, it proved to be a very poor quality product. A small piece that you have to tighten to hold the lamp together broke off during assembly. The whole lamp fell apart. We never even got to plug it in. I'm returning it, needless to say.

I bought this for my sight-impaired mother. It was one of the only lamps that could be adjusted so that the light was directly above her reading material. The lamp head can be lowered below her face so that the light shines directly on whatever she is working on.

This was the perfect gift for my mother-in-law who loves to read do needle work. The fully adjustable arm allows her to put the light below her face, directed on what she is doing. The half solid canopy doesn't cause a distracting glare the way traditional lamps do. It's also a very stylish addition to her family room. The only thing I was slightly dissappointed in was the very dark-to-black finish. It's a little darker than I would describe bronze.
