Gold bronze finish disappointing

While the lamp is sturdy and provides good light for a reading chair, the finish is disappointing. It has a "painted on" look of dark gold with brown highlights (instead of appearing metallic) which makes it look cheap. Will keep, but probably consider a metallic spray paint to get the look I want.

A very impressive lamp; well made; quite heavy. The gold bronze finish works well with all natural woods and copper finishes. The recommended 75w bulb is overkill. A 60w will give more than enough light. Easy on/off switch on top of shade. The cord runs the entire length of the pole, therefore adjusting the height "down" requires pulling out the cord at the base bottom to "take up the slack". But once this lamp is adjusted to your seating situation, you'll probably never adjust the height - only the angle of the shade as needed. I am more than satisfied.

My husband is older and had difficulty seeing to read with our former floor lamp with a regular shade. This new lamp is able to stand beside his recliner and is much easier to turn on. Best of all it throws a much broader light enabling him to see to read. The brighter light is also uplifting in the darker winter.
