Problems with control box

The first lamp I bought, the control box did not work at all. I've had the second lamp just about one year, and the control box just went out.

The area that needed lighting was very difficult and I agonized over the right kind of lamp, the right size, the right style, something that gave sufficient light, but fit into the difficult space. This is a great little lamp. I'm still getting used to turning it off and on, up and down with my foot, but I'm liking that aspect of it more and more.

I don't know if the description mentions it but this lamp has a dimmer and everything (on/off, dim/bright) is controlled at the base of the lamp. There's a separate box and we turn it on and adjust the brightness by sliding our foot across the box. Ingenious! The box can be placed away from the lamp or next to it. There's a very long cord.
